For a Body Brain Center franchise, what is the role of the owner when a manager is hired?
Body_Brain_Center Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
If you purchase more franchises than you have Owners, you must hire at least one (1) individual manager to assume responsibility for the daily supervision and operation of any Body & Brain Center that is not managed by an Owner.
We may also allow you to hire a manager to assist an Owner with the management of your Center as long as the Owner remains actively involved with the operation of the Center.
A manager may only manage one (1) Body & Brain Center.
Each manager must: (i) be approved by us (we may require that the manager visit our headquarters for an interview); (ii) successfully complete the initial training program (and you must pay us the fee for the initial training); and (iii) sign a Brand Protection Agreement before attending training.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Body & Brain Center FDD, if a franchisee purchases more franchises than they have owners, they must hire a manager for each center not managed by an owner. Even if an owner hires a manager to assist them, the owner must remain actively involved in the Body & Brain Center's operations. An owner cannot manage multiple centers.
The FDD specifies that each manager must be approved by Body & Brain Center, complete the initial training program (for which the franchisee must pay a training fee), and sign a Brand Protection Agreement before training. The initial training fee is $10,000 for each manager. This ensures that all managers are properly trained and aligned with the brand's standards.
This requirement ensures that Body & Brain Center maintains consistent quality and standards across all its locations, whether managed directly by an owner or by a hired manager. The active involvement of the owner, even with a manager in place, helps to maintain oversight and accountability, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the franchise. The franchisor retains control over manager selection and training, but the franchisee is responsible for the day-to-day employment and supervision of all staff.
