What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Body Brain Center Franchise Disclosure Document, in order to renew a franchise agreement, a franchisee must meet several requirements in addition to paying the $1,000 renewal fee. These requirements include notifying Body Brain Center in writing of the desire to renew the franchise agreement, not being in default under the existing agreement, signing the successor franchise agreement and all ancillary documents, and signing a General Release.

These stipulations mean that a Body Brain Center franchisee cannot have any outstanding issues or breaches of contract with the franchisor at the time of renewal. The franchisee must also agree to the terms of the new franchise agreement, which Body Brain Center states may vary materially and substantially from the original agreement. The franchisee must also provide a General Release, which typically involves waiving any potential legal claims against the franchisor.

In summary, while the renewal fee is a concrete cost, franchisees should also be prepared to meet all other obligations, including operational compliance and acceptance of potentially altered terms in the new franchise agreement. Failing to meet these requirements could prevent a franchisee from being able to renew their Body Brain Center franchise.
