What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training fee is $2,500. However, this fee can be exceeded under specific circumstances. If any representatives, including initial required trainees, attend a subsequent initial training session, Body20 may charge its then-current initial training fee. This fee will not be more than $1,000 per trainee per day. Additionally, if Body20 provides any portion of the initial training at the franchisee's studio, they may charge an additional fee of up to $1,000 per trainer per day, along with covering their travel and living expenses.
This means that if a franchisee needs to send representatives to additional training sessions or requires on-site training at their studio, they should anticipate incurring extra costs beyond the initial $2,500. These additional fees can accumulate quickly, especially if multiple trainees require subsequent training or if the on-site training lasts for several days and involves multiple trainers. The franchisee is responsible for covering not only the training fees but also the travel and living expenses for the trainers providing on-site training.
It is important to note that Body20 has no obligation to refund any training fees paid, regardless of the reason. This policy underscores the importance of ensuring that the initial trainees are well-prepared and that any subsequent training needs are carefully considered and budgeted for. Franchisees should clarify with Body20 the potential costs for additional training scenarios to avoid unexpected financial burdens.
In the franchise industry, it is common for franchisors to charge for additional training, especially if it is required due to the franchisee's or their employees' performance. However, the specific amounts and conditions can vary significantly. Prospective Body20 franchisees should carefully review the training policies outlined in the Franchise Disclosure Document and discuss any concerns or questions with the franchisor before signing the agreement.
