What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may have the option to renew their franchise agreement for two additional terms of five years each, provided certain conditions are met. One of these conditions is that the franchisee must pay Body20 a successor fee. The FDD does not specify the amount of this successor fee.
In addition to paying the successor fee, franchisees seeking to renew must notify Body20 of their intent to renew at least six months, but no more than 12 months, before the current term expires. They must also sign and return the successor franchise agreement, owner's guaranty, and any other required agreements, which may contain materially different terms and conditions than the original agreement. The franchisee is also responsible for refurbishing or renovating the studio to meet Body20's then-current specifications.
Furthermore, to qualify for renewal, the franchisee, owners, and affiliates must be in full compliance with the Franchise Agreement and all other related agreements with Body20, its affiliates, and approved vendors. They must also secure the right to continue operating at the current site for the entire successor term and ensure that the Operating Principal and Designated Manager complete Body20's then-current training requirements. Finally, the franchisee and owners must execute a general release in favor of Body20 and its affiliates.
