What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Body20 Franchisor LLC retains ownership of all copyrights relating to the System, the Brand, and related concepts. This includes, but is not limited to, the manuals and marketing materials provided to franchisees.
This means that as a Body20 franchisee, you acknowledge that you have no ownership of the copyrights associated with the marketing and advertising materials provided by Body20. You are only granted the right to use these materials in accordance with the franchise agreement.
This is a common practice in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain control over its brand and ensure consistency across all franchise locations. It also means that Body20 can update or modify these materials as needed without requiring permission from individual franchisees. Upon termination of the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must cease using all copyrighted materials.
As a prospective franchisee, it is important to understand that you cannot create your own marketing materials that incorporate Body20's copyrighted materials without express permission. Doing so could result in legal action from the franchisor.
