What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the expense of replacing, upgrading, or updating the Technology System. The Technology System includes the hardware, software, other equipment, and network connections that Body20 specifies in its manuals for operating the point-of-sale system, customer relationship management system, online reservation system, and other designated technology systems.
This means that as a Body20 franchisee, you must maintain and update the Technology System at your own cost. Body20 will establish reasonable deadlines for implementing any changes to the Technology System requirements. This obligation ensures that all franchisees operate on the same technology standards, which helps maintain consistency and brand integrity across all locations.
The franchisee is also responsible for ensuring employees are adequately trained in using the Technology System and related policies. Additionally, the franchisee must maintain the Technology System in good working order at their own expense and dedicate it for business uses related to the studio's operation. The franchisee must also comply with all laws and payment card provider standards relating to the security of the Technology System, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
It is important for prospective Body20 franchisees to factor in the ongoing costs of maintaining and updating the Technology System when assessing the financial viability of the franchise. Failing to keep the system updated or properly maintained could lead to operational issues and potential non-compliance, for which the franchisee is solely responsible.
