What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Body20 has the right to mandate that franchisees purchase or lease products, supplies, operating assets, and services that meet specific requirements. These requirements may include specifications established by Body20, specific brands, kinds, or models, and purchases from expressly approved suppliers or designated single sources. The FDD states that Body20 will publish these requirements in the Manuals to the extent that they establish specifications, require approval of suppliers/service providers, or designate specific suppliers/service providers for particular items or services.
This means that prospective Body20 franchisees should carefully review the Manuals to understand the approved suppliers and specific requirements for products, supplies, and services. Compliance with these requirements is mandatory, and failure to adhere to the approved supplier list could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
If a franchisee wishes to use a supplier or product that is not already approved, they must submit a written request for approval to Body20. Body20 has the right to inspect the proposed supplier's facilities, test product samples, and evaluate service providers. The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with this approval process, which could be the greater of $1,000 or Body20's actual costs and expenses. Body20 ultimately has the discretion to grant, deny, or revoke approval based on their judgment.
