What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must display a sign in their studio indicating independent ownership and operation. This sign must be placed in a conspicuous location within the studio or in a manner specified by Body20. The sign's language must state that the studio is owned and operated independently by the franchisee, who is an authorized licensed user of Body20's trademarks.
In addition to the physical sign, Body20 franchisees must include a similar notice on various written materials. This includes forms, advertising, promotional materials, business cards, receipts, letterhead, contracts, stationary, and any other written materials that Body20 designates. The language used on these materials must either be the same as the sign or other similar language specified by Body20.
This requirement ensures that customers understand that the Body20 studio is independently owned and operated under a franchise agreement. It clarifies that while the studio uses Body20's brand and trademarks, it is not directly owned or managed by the franchisor. This is a common practice in franchising, helping to distinguish between the franchisor and franchisee while maintaining brand consistency.
