When does the initial Body20 franchise term begin?

According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise term begins on the effective date of the Franchise Agreement. The initial term lasts for 10 years, starting from the date the franchisee opens their Body20 studio for business. This means that while the agreement is effective immediately upon signing, the 10-year clock doesn't start ticking until the studio is operational and serving customers.

If a franchisee continues to operate the Body20 studio after the initial 10-year term expires, the agreement may be treated as extended on a month-to-month basis. This extension continues until either Body20 or the franchisee provides notice to end it. The termination of this interim period takes effect 30 days after the other party receives the notice.

This arrangement provides some flexibility for both parties. The franchisee can continue operating without a formal renewal if they are undecided about the future, and Body20 maintains control over the brand and standards. However, it's crucial for franchisees to be aware of the notice period required to terminate the month-to-month extension to avoid any unintended continuation of the agreement.
