What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must pay a Technology Fee starting three months before their studio opens, for technology services provided by Body20 or designated third parties. This fee can change, but Body20 will provide 30 days' written notice before any change takes effect.
The Technology Fee will not exceed the greater of two amounts: $2,500 per month or 2% of the franchisee's Gross Sales. This means that if 2% of a franchisee's Gross Sales is less than $2,500, the Technology Fee will be capped at $2,500. However, if 2% of Gross Sales exceeds $2,500, then the Technology Fee can be as high as that percentage of Gross Sales.
For a prospective Body20 franchisee, this means the Technology Fee could vary significantly depending on their studio's revenue. It also means that Body20 has the flexibility to adjust the Technology Fee based on either a fixed amount or a percentage of sales, whichever is higher, providing them with a mechanism to capture more value as the franchisee's business grows. Franchisees should carefully consider their projected Gross Sales when evaluating the potential cost of this ongoing Technology Fee.
