What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted in the services they can offer at their studio. Specifically, franchisees cannot offer sessions at the studio that are not offered under the Body20 brand and provided by qualified and properly trained instructors.
Furthermore, Body20 franchisees, their owners, and affiliates must obtain prior written approval from Body20 before offering any products or services to the studio's customers, whether those services are provided at the studio or any other location. Body20 retains the sole discretion to withhold such approval. This extends to operating any retail location providing ancillary products or services, such as a juice or smoothie bar, at or near the studio site.
In practice, this means a Body20 franchisee's business is limited to the specific fitness training and related services approved by the franchisor. Any deviation from this requires explicit permission, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to the Body20 system. This restriction is common in franchising to maintain uniformity and protect the brand's reputation, but it also limits the franchisee's autonomy and potential revenue streams beyond the core offerings.
