What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Body20 Franchise Disclosure Document, as part of the franchise agreement, the franchisee makes several representations and warranties, including those related to terrorist activities. Specifically, the franchisee represents that they are not acquiring the rights granted under the agreement with the intention of generating funds to support any individual or entity involved in terrorist activities. This representation is a legal assurance to Body20 that the franchisee's operations will not be used to finance terrorism.

This representation is crucial for Body20 to comply with U.S. laws, including Executive Order 13224, which prohibits transactions with individuals or entities engaged in or supporting terrorism. By including this clause, Body20 aims to ensure that its franchisees are not involved in any activities that could violate these laws. The franchisee also warrants that they do not currently engage in any terrorist activity, are not affiliated with or do not support any individual or entity involved in terrorist activity, and will not do so in the future.

For a prospective Body20 franchisee, this means understanding and agreeing to these terms is a condition of entering into the franchise agreement. It highlights the importance of conducting business ethically and legally, with awareness of the implications of U.S. anti-terrorism laws. This clause protects Body20 from potential legal and reputational risks associated with franchisees who might be involved in illicit activities. Franchisees should carefully consider these representations and ensure they can truthfully make them before signing the agreement.
