What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee cannot make any material changes to their studio without prior written consent from Body20. This includes alterations, additions, replacements, or improvements to the studio's physical structure and operating assets. The franchisee is responsible for maintaining the studio's exterior and interior, including the parking lot, fixtures, furnishings, signs, and equipment, to the highest standards of cleanliness, orderliness, sanitation, and repair, as outlined in the Body20 manuals.
Body20 provides franchisees with access to their manuals, which contain the System Standards that franchisees must adhere to. Body20 retains the right to modify or supplement these manuals periodically, and franchisees are obligated to comply with any revised mandatory System Standards within 30 days of receiving the updates, unless otherwise specified. The franchisee must use only the signs, emblems, designs, artwork, lettering, logos, and display and advertising materials that Body20 periodically requires or authorizes, both inside and outside the premises.
These stipulations ensure that all Body20 studios maintain a consistent brand image and operational standard. Requiring franchisor approval for modifications allows Body20 to control the quality and uniformity of its locations, which is a common practice in franchising. Failure to comply with these standards could potentially lead to a breach of the franchise agreement.
