What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement has an initial term of 10 years, starting when the studio opens for business. The FDD outlines the conditions under which a franchisee may renew the agreement for two additional five-year terms.
To renew with Body20, the franchisee must notify Body20 of their intent to renew at least six months, but no more than 12 months, before the current term expires. Franchisees must sign and return the successor franchise agreement, owner's guaranty, and any other required agreements, which may contain significantly different terms than the original agreement. Additionally, franchisees must refurbish or renovate the studio to meet Body20's current specifications, execute a general release in favor of Body20 and its affiliates, and ensure that the Operating Principal and Designated Manager complete the then-current training requirements.
The franchisee must also secure the right to continue operating at the current site for the renewal term. All parties involved, including the franchisee, owners, and affiliates, must be in full compliance with the Franchise Agreement and all related agreements with Body20, its affiliates, and approved vendors. Finally, the franchisee must pay Body20 the Successor Fee to finalize the renewal.
Failure to meet all of these conditions could result in the franchisee being unable to renew their Body20 franchise, highlighting the importance of careful planning and adherence to the franchise agreement throughout the initial term.
