Does the Body20 Development Agreement require franchisees to buy or lease goods, services, or equipment from Body20, its affiliates, designees, or approved suppliers?

Body20 Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

The Development Agreement does not require you to buy or lease from us (or our affiliates), our designees, or approved suppliers, or according to our specifications, any goods, services, supplies, fixtures, equipment, inventory, computer hardware and software, or comparable items related to establishing or operating your business under the Development Agreement. However, each proposed site for a Studio must satisfy our siteselection criteria and is subject to our written acceptance. Additionally, as otherwise provided in this Disclosure Document, our form of Franchise Agreement covers these items.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Development Agreement does not mandate that franchisees purchase or lease goods, services, or equipment from Body20, its affiliates, designees, or approved suppliers. This includes items such as supplies, fixtures, inventory, computer hardware, and software necessary for establishing or running the business under the Development Agreement. However, Body20 does require that each proposed site for a studio meets their site-selection criteria and receives their written acceptance.

While the Development Agreement itself does not impose mandatory purchasing obligations, the Franchise Agreement, as detailed elsewhere in the FDD, does cover these items. This means that once a franchisee enters into a Franchise Agreement for a specific Body20 studio location, certain purchasing requirements may apply.

It is important for prospective Body20 franchisees to carefully review both the Development Agreement and the Franchise Agreement to fully understand their obligations regarding approved suppliers and required purchases. Understanding the interplay between these two agreements is crucial for assessing the overall investment and operational requirements of a Body20 franchise.
