What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Body20's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Body20 or its affiliates own any and all present or future copyrights relating to the System or the Brand and related concept, including, but not limited to, the Manuals and marketing materials. The franchisee acknowledges this ownership.
This means that Body20 franchisees must use only the copyrighted materials that Body20 approves. Franchisees cannot create their own marketing materials or manuals using the Body20 brand without express permission. This protects Body20's brand consistency and ensures quality control across all franchise locations.
The franchisee is required to notify Body20 in writing of any suspected copyright infringement. Body20 and its affiliates have the exclusive right to bring an action for infringement and retain any amounts recovered with respect to such action, and to control any infringement proceeding whether brought by or against them or the franchisee. Body20 has no obligation to defend or otherwise protect the franchisee against any claims involving any copyright, including without limitation any copyright infringement claim, or to indemnify the franchisee for any losses they may incur as a result of Body20's copyrights infringing the rights of any other copyright owner. If so requested by Body20, the franchisee will discontinue the use of the subject matter covered by any copyright used in connection with the Studio.
