What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Black Bear Diner Franchise Disclosure Document, Section 13.5 of the Franchise Agreement outlines the franchisor's right to inspect a franchisee's Black Bear Diner restaurant. This section grants Black Bear Diner the authority to send representatives to the restaurant for advice, consultation, or training purposes.
As part of the inspection, Black Bear Diner representatives have the right to collect food and non-food samples in reasonable quantities for testing to ensure they meet the franchisor's standards. The franchisee is not compensated for these samples. Furthermore, Black Bear Diner may require the franchisee to cover the costs incurred by the franchisor or its representatives for providing advice, consultation, or training.
This clause allows Black Bear Diner to actively monitor and maintain the quality and consistency of its brand standards across all franchise locations. It also enables them to provide support and guidance to franchisees to improve their restaurant's operation and performance. Franchisees should be aware of the potential costs associated with these inspections and the importance of adhering to Black Bear Diner's standards and specifications.
