What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Black Bear Diner Franchise Disclosure Document, Black Bear Diner currently holds its Convention for system franchisees on an annual basis. However, the FDD specifies that Black Bear Diner has the discretion to conduct and administer the convention.

Attendance at the Black Bear Diner Franchise Convention is required for franchisees or their General Manager. The convention will not be required for more than three days during any calendar year and is held at a location designated by Black Bear Diner. Franchisees are responsible for covering all costs associated with attending the convention, although Black Bear Diner may choose to offset certain costs based on payments received from third-party suppliers.

Failure to attend the Convention may result in a fee, as detailed in Item 6 of the FDD. Additionally, Black Bear Diner may hold or sponsor an annual training meeting for General Managers, which the General Manager and up to two assistant managers must attend. Attendance at this meeting will not be required for more than two days during any calendar year, and failure to attend may also result in a fee as described in Item 6.
