What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Black Bear Diner's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the furniture, fixtures, and equipment that a franchisee must buy or lease includes serving equipment, a cash register/point-of-sale system, point-of-sale materials, a digital jukebox for use as a sound system, miscellaneous small wares, and signage. The total estimated cost for these items ranges from $82,100 to $96,600. These costs are paid to third parties, and payment is arranged between the franchisee and those third parties.

The specific equipment package for a Black Bear Diner restaurant will depend on factors such as the presence of existing food service facilities, the square footage of the location, and anticipated customer volume. This means that franchisees opening in locations already equipped for food service may have lower costs than those starting in a new or completely renovated space.

Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these costs and how they might vary based on their specific location and business plan. It is important to assess the condition of the premises and any existing equipment to accurately estimate the required investment. Consulting with a business advisor or accountant is recommended to review these estimates and make informed decisions about purchasing a Black Bear Diner franchise.
