What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bimbo Foods Bakeries Distribution's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the rental payment, referred to as "Basic Rent", for each vehicle begins to accrue on the Contract Date. The Basic Rent is detailed in the Summary of Lease Terms. These payments are required in U.S. dollars and must be immediately available to the Lessor. Payments are due either in advance or arrears, depending on the specifics outlined in the Summary of Lease Terms, with the first payment due on the first day of each Rental Period.
If the Contract Date does not fall on the first day of the month, the rental amount from the Contract Date to the Commencement Date is calculated based on a daily rental rate. This daily rate is determined by dividing the Basic Rent by 7 days for One Week, 14 days for One Biweekly, or 30 days for One Month Rental Periods, as applicable. This prorated amount is then multiplied by the number of days from the Contract Date up to the Commencement Date, and this initial payment is due on the Commencement Date.
Prospective Bimbo Foods Bakeries Distribution franchisees should carefully review the Summary of Lease Terms to understand the specific payment schedule, amounts, and due dates applicable to their vehicle leases. Understanding the Contract Date and Commencement Date is crucial for calculating the initial rental payment accurately, especially if these dates do not align with the first day of the month. Franchisees should also be aware of potential late charges and non-sufficient funds fees, as outlined in the lease agreement.
