What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bigfoot Forestry will regain its right of first refusal if the sale of a franchise is not completed within 120 days after Bigfoot Forestry receives the offer. Additionally, if there is a material change to the terms of the sale, Bigfoot Forestry will again have the right of first refusal.

In simpler terms, if a franchisee attempts to sell their franchise, Bigfoot Forestry has the first opportunity to buy it themselves. This right ensures Bigfoot Forestry can control who enters their system and maintain brand standards. However, this right is time-sensitive.

If the sale drags on beyond 120 days or the deal significantly changes, Bigfoot Forestry gets another chance to step in and exercise their right of first refusal. This protects Bigfoot Forestry from being rushed into a decision or having the terms of the sale altered to their disadvantage. This right of first refusal does not apply to a Permitted Transfer.
