What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to specific standards for advertising and marketing their business. The manual contains policies and procedures pertaining to marketing and advertising. Franchisees may promote their business using social media, but only on approved platforms and in strict compliance with Bigfoot Forestry's social media policy. All social media posts require prior approval from Bigfoot Forestry, and the company retains ownership and full administrator rights over all social media accounts related to the franchisee's business.
Without prior approval from Bigfoot Forestry, franchisees are prohibited from developing, hosting, or maintaining any website or digital presence that references Bigfoot Forestry's trademarks. They also cannot conduct any digital or online advertising or marketing or engage in e-commerce without explicit permission. Any advertising that a franchisee proposes and Bigfoot Forestry approves is considered an "Improvement."
Bigfoot Forestry may establish regional advertising cooperatives, requiring franchisees to participate and adhere to the cooperative's rules and decisions. Franchisees may be required to pay a cooperative advertising fee, which cannot exceed 2% of Gross Sales. These fees contribute to the franchisee's Local Marketing Commitment. Bigfoot Forestry retains the right to form, change, or dissolve these cooperatives at its discretion.
