What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for ensuring their Service Technicians complete the required training programs. Specifically, any person appointed as a Service Technician must successfully complete all training programs that Bigfoot Forestry requires. If a franchisee hires a Project Manager, that Project Manager must also serve as a Service Technician, implying they too must complete the required training.

Furthermore, the FDD states that the Managing Owner must also successfully complete all training programs that Bigfoot Forestry requires. Prior to opening their Bigfoot Forestry business, the Managing Owner and Project Manager (if applicable) must successfully complete initial training.

While the FDD specifies that Bigfoot Forestry provides the preopening initial training program at no additional charge, it also states that the franchisee is responsible for all wages and travel expenses incurred by themselves and their personnel to attend training. Bigfoot Forestry may charge a training fee of up to $500 per person per day for initial training after the business opens, retraining after failing a prior attempt, remedial training, or additional training requested by the franchisee.

In summary, while Bigfoot Forestry provides the training programs, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for ensuring their personnel, including Service Technicians, Project Managers, and the Managing Owner, complete the necessary training. The franchisee also bears the costs associated with wages, travel, and potential training fees for these programs.
