What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Bigfoot Forestry FDD, the Storage Facility Approval Notice serves to confirm the franchisor's approval of the commercial storage facility that the franchisee proposes to use for storing their equipment and tools. Bigfoot Forestry requires franchisees to have access to a storage facility with sufficient space for their operating equipment and tools. While a franchisee can use their home as a storage facility if it meets certain conditions, such as adequate space and no prohibitions by lease agreements or homeowner association rules, otherwise the franchisee must rent space from a commercial storage facility.

Before a Bigfoot Forestry franchisee can receive their Equipment Package, they must secure a suitable storage facility. If the franchisee's home cannot serve as the storage facility, they must obtain approval from Bigfoot Forestry for a commercial storage facility. The Storage Facility Approval Notice confirms this approval, ensuring that the franchisee has a designated location that meets the franchisor's standards for storing equipment and tools.

The Storage Facility Approval Notice includes the address of the approved storage facility. Once Bigfoot Forestry approves a storage facility, the franchisee cannot store their equipment or tools at any other commercial storage facility without prior written approval from Bigfoot Forestry. By signing the notice, both the franchisee and Bigfoot Forestry agree that the identified location is the approved storage facility. However, the franchisee's failure to sign the notice does not invalidate Bigfoot Forestry's designation, which becomes binding on the franchisee from the effective date stated in the notice.
