imposed by the licensor.

Maintenance, Support, Updates and Upgrades

The licensing fees charged by suppliers of our recommended software typically include any required maintenance, repairs and updates. You may be charged additional fees for software upgrades, although we are unable to provide a reasonable estimate of these fees. Most laptops and smart phones come with a limited warranty (if purchased new). You may also wish to purchase an optional maintenance or support contract, which we estimate could cost between $50 and $150 per year.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while the licensing fees for recommended software typically include maintenance, repairs, and updates, additional fees may be charged for software upgrades. However, Bigfoot Forestry states that they are unable to provide a reasonable estimate for these potential upgrade fees.

Bigfoot Forestry franchisees are required to maintain their computer systems, and the franchisor may mandate upgrades or updates to conform to current specifications. There are no contractual limitations on the frequency or cost of these updates or upgrades, meaning these costs could vary significantly and are difficult to predict.

Prospective franchisees should consider the potential for unpredictable expenses related to software upgrades and factor this into their financial planning. It would be prudent to discuss typical upgrade cycles and potential costs with existing Bigfoot Forestry franchisees to gain a better understanding of this aspect of the business. Franchisees may also wish to inquire with the software licensors directly.
