Does Bigfoot Forestry need to approve the location of a franchisee's home office?

Bigfoot_Forestry Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You are not required to purchase or lease a dedicated retail space. We expect franchisees to operate from a home office. If you operate from a home office, you do not need our approval of the location of your home office. However, you must notify of the address of your home office and your new address if you relocate.

You will need between 300 and 450 square feet of storage space (with a height of at least 15 feet) to store your equipment and tools. If you store your vehicle with your equipment, the space must be approximately 45 feet long, 10 feet wide and 15 feet high. If you do not store your vehicle with your equipment, then the space must be approximately 30 feet long, 10 feet wide and 15 feet high. You may store your tools and equipment at your home if you have sufficient space. Otherwise, you may need to lease storage space. If you lease storage space, we must approve the storage facility. The storage facility does not need to be located in your territory. We will approve or disapprove your proposed storage facility within 15 days after you send us photos, dimensions and any additional information we request.

You must confirm you have adequate storage space before the Equipment Package will be delivered. If you fail to secure suitable storage space within 120 days after signing the Franchise Agreement, we may terminate your franchise.

However, franchisees must notify Bigfoot Forestry of their home office address and any changes if they relocate.

While home office location doesn't require approval, Bigfoot Forestry does specify requirements for storage space. Franchisees need between 300 and 450 square feet of storage space with a height of at least 15 feet for equipment and tools. If a franchisee stores their vehicle with the equipment, the storage space must be approximately 45 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 15 feet high. If a franchisee chooses to lease storage space, Bigfoot Forestry must approve the storage facility. The storage facility does not need to be located within the franchisee's territory. Bigfoot Forestry will approve or disapprove the proposed storage facility within 15 days after receiving photos, dimensions, and any additional requested information. Franchisees must confirm they have adequate storage space before the Equipment Package is delivered, and failure to secure suitable storage space within 120 days after signing the Franchise Agreement may result in termination of the franchise.
