What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the exact number of hours for on-the-job training for Bigfoot Forestry franchisees is not specified. However, Bigfoot Forestry will provide an initial training program to franchisees before they open their business. Additionally, Bigfoot Forestry may send a representative to the franchisee's territory to provide up to 4 days of onsite training and assist with the opening of the business, but the franchisee must reimburse all travel expenses incurred by Bigfoot Forestry for this optional assistance.
Bigfoot Forestry may also offer periodic refresher or supplemental training courses for the Managing Owner, Project Manager (if applicable) and other management personnel. These courses may be designated as mandatory or optional. If a new Managing Owner or Project Manager is appointed or hired, they must successfully complete initial training before managing the business. If Bigfoot Forestry determines that a franchisee is not operating in compliance with the Franchise Agreement or Manual, they may require the Managing Owner, Project Manager (if applicable) and other management personnel to attend remedial training relevant to their operational deficiencies. Franchisees may also request additional training, which Bigfoot Forestry may (but need not) provide.
The training program is headed by Ben Bartnikowski, the founder and CEO of Bigfoot Forestry. Other instructors include Phillip Gillian, the Director of Field Operations, who provides instruction on operations and equipment, and Carrie Hoff, the Chief Financial Officer, who provides instruction on accounting matters and software use. All instructors have a minimum of 5 years of experience in their relevant field.
Prospective franchisees should inquire with Bigfoot Forestry about the typical duration of the initial training program and the content covered during the optional onsite training to better understand the time commitment and expertise they will gain.
