What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Managing Owner is not required to serve as a Service Technician. However, the Managing Owner may choose to serve as a Service Technician. If a Project Manager is hired, that Project Manager must also serve as a Service Technician.

If the Managing Owner does not adhere to an owner-operator model, they must hire a Project Manager to manage and supervise the business. The Project Manager must remain actively involved, travel to job sites, manage projects, and supervise Service Technicians. The Managing Owner is then responsible for monitoring and supervising the Project Manager to ensure compliance with the Franchise Agreement and the Manual.

Any person hired as a Project Manager must be approved by Bigfoot Forestry, meet the requirements for Service Technicians, complete additional training, dedicate full-time efforts to the business, and sign a Confidentiality Agreement. This structure allows for flexibility in how the franchise is managed, whether through direct owner involvement or through a hired manager who also performs technical services.
