Bigfoot_Forestry Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Vehicle

You must have access to a new or used vehicle that meets our standards and specifications. The vehicle must be capable of towing your crew and equipment to job sites. You may purchase or lease your vehicle from any supplier of your choosing. If you do not already own a suitable vehicle, we recommend you purchase a used vehicle, not more than 5 years old, with a minimum towing capacity of 18,000 pounds. You must purchase our required vehicle wrap or vehicle decals from a supplier we designate. You may use your vehicle for purposes unrelated to your Business, but subject to any restrictions we impose in the Manual in order to protect our brand or limit liability risks.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not explicitly required to purchase or lease a new vehicle. The FDD states that franchisees must have access to a vehicle that meets Bigfoot Forestry's standards and specifications, and that the vehicle must be capable of towing the crew and equipment to job sites. Franchisees may purchase or lease their vehicle from any supplier of their choosing.

Bigfoot Forestry recommends that if a franchisee does not already own a suitable vehicle, they should purchase a used vehicle that is not more than 5 years old, with a minimum towing capacity of 18,000 pounds. This recommendation suggests that while a new vehicle is not mandatory, the vehicle must meet certain performance criteria.

Regardless of whether the vehicle is new or used, franchisees must purchase the required vehicle wrap or vehicle decals from a supplier designated by Bigfoot Forestry. Franchisees are allowed to use their vehicle for purposes unrelated to their Bigfoot Forestry business, but this is subject to any restrictions imposed in the Manual to protect the brand or limit liability risks. This implies that while personal use is permitted, Bigfoot Forestry retains some control over how the vehicle is used to safeguard its brand image and manage potential liabilities.
