raining.

Office and Storage Space (§7.1)

You are not required to purchase or lease a dedicated retail space. We expect franchisees to operate from a home office. If you operate from a home office, you do not need our approval of the location of your home office. However, you must notify of the address of your home office and your new address if you relocate.

You will need between 300 and 450 square feet of storage space (with a height of at least 15 feet) to store your equipment and tools. If you store your vehicle with your equipment, the space must be approximately 45 feet long, 10 feet wide and 15 feet high. If you do not store your vehicle with your equipment, then the space must be approximately 30 feet long, 10 feet wide and 15 feet high. You may store your tools and equipment at your home if you have sufficient space. Otherwise, you may need to lease storage space. If you lease storage space, we must approve the storage facility. The storage facility does not need to be located in your territory. We will approve or disapprove your proposed storage facility within 15 days after you send us photos, dimensions and any additional information we request.

You must confirm you have adequate storage space before the Equipment Package will be delivered.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not required to purchase or lease a dedicated retail space. The FDD states that Bigfoot Forestry expects franchisees to operate from a home office. If a franchisee chooses to operate from a home office, the franchisor does not need to approve the location. However, the franchisee must notify Bigfoot Forestry of their home office address and any changes if they relocate.

While a retail space is not required, franchisees will need storage space for their equipment and tools. The FDD specifies that between 300 and 450 square feet of storage space is needed, with a height of at least 15 feet. The size needed depends on whether the franchisee stores their vehicle with the equipment. Franchisees can store their tools and equipment at their home if they have sufficient space; otherwise, they will need to lease storage space. If storage space is leased, the franchisor must approve the storage facility, but it does not need to be located within the franchisee's territory.

Securing adequate storage space is a critical step, as the Equipment Package will not be delivered until storage is confirmed. Failure to secure suitable storage space within 120 days after signing the Franchise Agreement may result in termination of the franchise agreement. This highlights the importance of planning and securing appropriate storage solutions early in the process of establishing a Bigfoot Forestry franchise.
