Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Vehicle

You must have access to a new or used vehicle that meets our standards and specifications. The vehicle must be capable of towing your crew and equipment to job sites. You may purchase or lease your vehicle from any supplier of your choosing. If you do not already own a suitable vehicle, we recommend you purchase a used vehicle, not more than 5 years old, with a minimum towing capacity of 18,000 pounds. You must purchase our required vehicle wrap or vehicle decals from a supplier we designate. You may use your vehicle for purposes unrelated to your Business, but subject to any restrictions we impose in the Manual in order to protect our brand or limit liability risks.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase the required vehicle wrap or vehicle decals from a supplier that Bigfoot Forestry designates. While franchisees have the freedom to choose their vehicle from any supplier, the branding elements for that vehicle are restricted.

This requirement ensures brand consistency across all Bigfoot Forestry franchise locations. By mandating a specific supplier for vehicle wraps and decals, Bigfoot Forestry maintains control over the appearance and quality of its brand representation on franchisee vehicles. This is a common practice in franchising, where brand uniformity is considered crucial for customer recognition and trust.

It is important for prospective franchisees to understand that this designated supplier is subject to change, and Bigfoot Forestry will communicate any changes to the supplier list via email, updates to the manual, or other means of communication. Franchisees should also be aware that Bigfoot Forestry estimates between 75% and 95% of the total purchases and leases to establish and operate the Bigfoot Forestry business will consist of source-restricted goods or services.

If a franchisee wishes to use a non-approved supplier, they must submit a written request, product samples, and any additional information requested by Bigfoot Forestry. The supplier must also comply with insurance, indemnification, and confidentiality requirements and allow facility inspections. Bigfoot Forestry may also require the supplier to pay a license fee to use their marks, and the franchisee must reimburse all costs incurred to evaluate the proposed supplier.
