What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees can operate their business from a home office. The FDD states that franchisees may relocate their home office at any time, provided they notify Bigfoot Forestry of the new address at least 30 days before relocating. However, franchisees cannot operate from a separate commercial office or retail space without prior approval from Bigfoot Forestry.
In addition to an office, franchisees must have access to a storage facility to house operating equipment and tools. A franchisee's home can serve as the storage facility if it has adequate space and if storage is not prohibited by lease agreements or homeowner association rules. If the home cannot serve as the storage facility, the franchisee must rent space from a commercial storage facility that is approved by Bigfoot Forestry.
Prior to opening their Bigfoot Forestry business, franchisees must purchase a Startup Package and Equipment Package, along with all other required technology systems, equipment, tools, marketing materials, inventory, and supplies. Franchisees must also secure a suitable storage facility and obtain approval, if required, before the Equipment Package is shipped. This indicates that while a home office is permissible, franchisees must also meet specific requirements for equipment storage and operational readiness.
