Why were the 2 franchised Bigfoot Forestry outlets excluded from the Financial Performance Representation?

Bigfoot_Forestry Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

The data presented in this FPR is limited to the historical results achieved by Qualifying Outlets during the Measuring Year. We excluded date from the 2 Franchised Outlets that opened in 2024 because they were not open and operating throughout the entire Measuring Year. As a result, this FPR is limited to data from our Company-Owned Outlet.

Company-Owned Outlet Operational Details

Our Company-Owned Outlet opened in September 2020 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. During the Measuring Year, our Company-Owned Outlet utilized an average of 1.5 service teams (i.e., varied between 1 and 2 teams) running, on average, 2 pieces of equipment. It also conducted operations within an area larger than a franchisedterritory. Specifically, our Company-Owned Outlet performed jobs at sites located anywhere within a reasonable distance from the equipment storage site, similar to the manner in which we may authorize franchisees to conduct extraterritorial operations within "Approved Open Territories" (as discussed in Item 12 under "Extraterritorial Operations"). There are no other material differences between the operations of our Company-Owned Outlet and the franchised business offered under this Disclosure Document.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Financial Performance Representation (FPR) includes data only from "Qualifying Outlets". The document specifies that a "Qualifying Outlet" must have been open and operating for the entire Measuring Year, which was from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, and provided all requested data to Bigfoot Forestry.

The 2 franchised Bigfoot Forestry outlets were excluded from the FPR because they did not meet the requirement of being open and operating for the entire Measuring Year. The FDD states explicitly that the data from these two franchised outlets was excluded because they opened in 2024 and, therefore, were not open for the full year. As a result, the FPR is based solely on the performance of the one company-owned outlet that met the criteria of a "Qualifying Outlet".

This exclusion means that prospective franchisees should be aware that the financial performance data presented is based on a single company-owned location and may not be representative of what a franchisee might experience. The company-owned outlet also operated in an area larger than a typical franchised territory. It is important for potential franchisees to consider this when evaluating the financial performance representation and to conduct their own due diligence, potentially speaking with existing franchisees to gather additional insights.
