Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We may, in our sole discretion, extend one or more opening dates listed in the Development Schedule if you demonstrate to our satisfaction that you used best efforts to comply with the opening date and the need for the extension is due to unforeseeable delays rather than your lack diligence or funding. The opening date listed in the Development Schedule for a given Bigfoot Forestry Business may be earlier than the opening date required under the terms of the associated Franchise Agreement. In order to comply with the Development Schedule you must open each Bigfoot Forestry Business by the opening date listed in the Development Schedule even if such date is earlier than the opening date required by the associated Franchise Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Bigfoot Forestry Franchise Disclosure Document, an extension to the opening dates listed in the Development Schedule is possible under specific conditions. Bigfoot Forestry may extend one or more opening dates at their discretion if the franchisee demonstrates they used their best efforts to meet the original opening date.

Furthermore, the need for an extension must be due to unforeseeable delays, not from a lack of diligence or insufficient funding on the franchisee's part. This means that franchisees need to show they were proactive and committed to meeting the initial deadlines but were hindered by circumstances beyond their control.

It's important to note that the opening date in the Development Schedule can be earlier than what's required in the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees are obligated to meet the earlier date specified in the Development Schedule, even if the Franchise Agreement allows for a later opening. This highlights the importance of careful planning and resource management to adhere to the Development Schedule and avoid potential breaches of the agreement.
