What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before a transfer of a franchise in Washington or any other location can be approved, both the franchisee and the proposed transferee must meet several conditions. These conditions include the franchisee and transferee paying Bigfoot Forestry a $10,000 transfer fee.

In addition to the transfer fee, the franchisee must reimburse Bigfoot Forestry for any commission they pay their broker if their broker finds the transferee. The franchisee must also assign all Franchise Agreements to the transferee according to the transfer provisions outlined in each Franchise Agreement, which includes paying any transfer fee imposed under each agreement.

Furthermore, the franchisee and their owners must sign a General Release, and Bigfoot Forestry must choose not to exercise their right of first refusal. Finally, both the transferring owner and the transferee must satisfy all other conditions that Bigfoot Forestry reasonably requires for approval of the transfer. These stipulations apply universally to all franchise transfers, not just those in Washington.
