What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bigfoot Forestry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Brand Fund Fee is due at the same time as the royalty fee, which is the 10th day of the month. This fee is up to 3% of Gross Sales, but is currently 1% of Gross Sales. Bigfoot Forestry deposits this fee into a Brand Fund.
The Brand Fund is used to promote public recognition of the Bigfoot Forestry brand and improve its system. However, as a franchisee, you have no voting rights pertaining to the administration of the Brand Fund, the creation or placement of advertising, or the amount of the brand fund fee.
Franchisors commonly charge brand fund fees to support marketing and advertising efforts at the national or regional level. The fact that Bigfoot Forestry franchisees have no control over how the Brand Fund is used is not unusual, but prospective franchisees should evaluate whether they are comfortable with this arrangement. It is important to note that the Brand Fund fee is in addition to the Local Marketing Commitment, which is the greater of 2% of Gross Sales or $1,000 per month.
