What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Big O Tires Franchise Disclosure Document, Big O Tires stores operate under the service marks "BIG O" and "BIG O TIRES." Additionally, they utilize other trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, and symbols that Big O periodically designates. These marks, along with Big O’s proprietary licensed methods of doing business, are collectively referred to as the "Licensed Marks" and the "Big O System."

For a prospective franchisee, this means that upon signing the Franchise Agreement, they are granted the right to use these Licensed Marks and the Big O System to operate their Big O Tires store. This is a standard practice in franchising, where the franchisee benefits from the established brand recognition and operational methods of the franchisor. The franchisee must adhere to Big O Tires' standards and specifications in operating their store, ensuring consistency across all franchised locations.

The FDD also mentions that Big O Tires uses regional sales and distribution centers (RDCs) to service the stores. These RDCs are owned and/or leased and operated by Big O Tires. This implies that franchisees will receive support and supplies through these established distribution channels, which can streamline operations and ensure product availability. Franchisees should ensure they understand how these RDCs operate and what support they can expect from them.

It is important for potential franchisees to understand the full scope of the Licensed Marks and the Big O System, as their business operations will be closely tied to these elements. They should also inquire about any restrictions or guidelines regarding the use of these marks and the system to ensure compliance and avoid potential conflicts with the franchisor.
