Answer from 2025 FDD Document

work at BIG BLUE Swim Schools.

We will send an "opening team" to the School for at least 3 days (typically starting before and continuing after opening) to help train your supervisory employees on our philosophy and Brand Standards and prepare the School for opening. We will pay our opening team's wages and travel, hotel, and living expenses. If you request, and we agree to provide, additional or special guidance, assistance, or training during this opening phase (excluding training relating to labor relations and employment practices), you must pay our then-current training fee (not to exceed $750 per trainer per day plus the trainer's daily charges, including wages and travel, hotel, and living expenses). We have the right to delay the School's opening until all required training has been satisfactorily completed. (

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Big Blue Swim School FDD, an opening team will visit the new school for at least 3 days, typically starting before and continuing after the opening. During this time, the opening team will help train the franchisee's supervisory employees on the Big Blue Swim School's philosophy and brand standards. They will also assist in preparing the school for its opening.

Big Blue Swim School covers the wages, travel, hotel, and living expenses for its opening team. However, if the franchisee requests additional or special guidance, assistance, or training during this opening phase (excluding training related to labor relations and employment practices), the franchisee must pay a training fee. This fee will not exceed $750 per trainer per day, plus the trainer's daily charges, including wages, travel, hotel, and living expenses.

Big Blue Swim School retains the right to delay the school's opening if all required training has not been satisfactorily completed. This ensures that all locations meet the brand's standards before commencing operations. This is a fairly common practice in franchising, as the franchisor wants to ensure brand consistency and quality across all locations.
