According to the 2025 Big Blue Swim School FDD, the proprietary operating software is called LESSONBuddy. Big Blue Swim School will allow franchisees to use its confidential information, including the LESSONBuddy software, some of which constitutes trade secrets under applicable law. Big Blue Swim School will defend franchisees against any claim that this software infringes a patent or copyright in the United States.

In addition to the LESSONBuddy software, franchisees must obtain and use the computer hardware and software, point-of-sale system, communications services and equipment, computer-related accessories, peripheral equipment, tablets, smart phones, web-based scheduling, reservation, and payment systems, and other online and digital systems and Apps that Big Blue Swim School periodically specifies. The computer system must permit 24 hours per day, 7 days per week electronic communications between the franchisee and Big Blue Swim School, including access to the Internet and System Website.
