What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Big Blue Swim School's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisor proposes potential school sites, it will base its decision on specific criteria. These criteria include population density, demographic characteristics, visibility, traffic flow, competition, accessibility, ingress and egress, size, and other physical and commercial characteristics.
While Big Blue Swim School may propose potential sites using local commercial real estate brokers, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for locating, evaluating, and selecting the site for each school. The franchisee must provide all requested information and materials to allow Big Blue Swim School to assess each proposed site. Big Blue Swim School also has the right to require the franchisee to reimburse out-of-pocket expenses for site visits after the first visit per swim school.
Big Blue Swim School states that it will not unreasonably withhold acceptance of a site if it aligns with favorable or successful sites from the past. However, Big Blue Swim School retains the absolute right to reject any site that does not meet its criteria. The franchisee must evaluate and ultimately approve the selection of the school's site. The franchisor's standards for sites will apply to each new site proposed for each new Big Blue Swim School.
