What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Big Blue Swim School FDD, a franchisee must meet several requirements before opening their swim school for business. Big Blue Swim School or its designee must provide written approval of the school. The Managing Owner, general managers, and assistant managers must complete the initial orientation and training programs to Big Blue Swim School's satisfaction.
The swim school must have enough trained employees to manage and operate the school daily, adhering to Big Blue Swim School's Brand Standards. All employees must complete any necessary third-party certifications required for the school's legal operation. The franchisee must also satisfy all state and federal permitting, licensing, and other legal requirements, obtain all required insurance coverage, and provide copies of these materials to Big Blue Swim School.
Finally, the franchisee must have paid all outstanding amounts and not be in default under any agreement with Big Blue Swim School, its affiliates, and principal suppliers. Even though the franchise agreement allows for a 21-month period to open the school, these conditions must all be met before opening.
