You will be granted the right to use the "BHC CHICKEN" mark and "BHC" name, as well as such other trademarks, service marks, tradenames logos, designs and identifying slogans, whether registered or not registered, that we specifically designate, in the MFA or otherwise in writing, for use by Master Franchisee from time to time (collectively, the "Trademarks"). What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as a Master Franchisee, you are granted the right to use specific trademarks. These include the "BHC CHICKEN" mark and the "BHC" name. Additionally, you can use other trademarks, service marks, tradenames, logos, designs, and identifying slogans that Bhc specifically designates for use in the Master Franchise Agreement (MFA) or in writing. These marks may be registered or unregistered.
Beyond the Trademarks, the MFA grants you the right to use the Bhc System and its "IP Rights." This usage must align with the guidelines provided in Bhc's manuals and other requirements for operating Master Franchise Businesses. The System encompasses a distinctive layout, service style, design, signs, décor, furnishings, recipes, procedures, and techniques for sourcing, distributing, offering, and selling Korean-style fried chicken and sandwiches, beverages, other foods, complementary products, accessories, and services under the Trademarks.
This includes operating and service procedures, management practices, techniques, methods, knowledge, expertise, skill, and proprietary information related to running a food and beverage business. It also covers the layout and other systems and procedures for the Master Franchise Business and the operation of Bhc Restaurants. These elements may be amended or improved by Bhc or its affiliates over time. Therefore, it is important for a prospective franchisee to stay updated on any changes to the designated trademarks and the System to ensure compliance and effective business operation.
