What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must use the standard signs and formats that Bhc prescribes when operating their franchised restaurant and conducting business. This requirement ensures uniformity and consistency across all Bhc locations, maintaining brand recognition and customer experience.
Bhc also requires franchisees to maintain and periodically refurbish their restaurants to conform to the current building design, trade dress, and color schemes. These updates may include structural changes, new equipment, remodeling, redecoration, and modifications to comply with system-wide standards or accommodate new Bhc products. Bhc anticipates trade dress updates will be required no more frequently than once every five years.
Upon termination, cancellation, or expiration of the franchise agreement, franchisees must remove all signs bearing Bhc's marks and discontinue advertising that implies association with Bhc. Franchisees must also erase Bhc's marks from all forms and use significantly different trade names and sign formats if they engage in any business thereafter. These measures protect Bhc's brand and prevent confusion among customers after a franchise agreement ends.
