In connection with your Master Franchise Business, you will attend Master Franchisee training program, which includes training to operate a BHC Restaurant. We will provide approximately nine (9) additional hours of training for the Master Franchisee program. Before you open your Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant, we will train you and your manager-level employees to operate a BHC Restaurant. We will provide approximately six (6) days to seven (7) days (e.g., 54 hours to 63 hours) of training (although the
specific number of days depends on our opinion of your experience and needs) at your first Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant or another location we designate ("Initial Training" specified in Section 6.1 of the MFA). You must attend the entire Initial Training. You must pay all the expenses incurred by your trainees and attendees in connection with the Initial Training and any other training, conferences, conventions, or other meetings your trainees attend, including, for example, their daily allowance, transportation costs, and other living expenses (section 6.1(e) of the MFA).
Training will occur after you sign the MFA and while you are developing the first Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant. You and your attendees must complete the entire Initial Training to our satisfaction before you may open your Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant. If you or your attendees do not successfully graduate our Initial Training, you will have to attend the entire program again at your cost prior the opening of your Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant. We reserve the right to vary the length and content of the Initial Training based upon the experience and skill level of the individual attending the Initial Training. Franchisor is not obligated to renew Master Franchisee's rights granted under the MFA for an additional term if one or more of the following applies or occurs.
No additional training programs or refresher courses are required but may be provided by us. However, you can request additional on-site training or assistance at any time. We may provide this training or assistance at our option, but the MFA does not require us to do so.
We may periodically conduct an annual conference, convention, or training session, and if we do, we will determine its duration, curriculum, and location (section 6.2 of the MFA).

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Master Franchisee, their manager-level employees, and potentially the Principal Equity Operators and General Manager are required to attend the initial training program. The Master Franchisee will attend a Master Franchisee training program, which includes training to operate a Bhc Restaurant, with approximately nine additional hours of training specifically for the Master Franchisee program.
Before opening an Affiliate Franchised Bhc Restaurant, Bhc will train the franchisee and their manager-level employees to operate the restaurant. The initial training lasts approximately six to seven days. The franchisee and their attendees must complete the entire initial training to Bhc's satisfaction before opening their Affiliate Franchised Bhc Restaurant. If they do not successfully graduate, they must attend the entire program again at their own cost before opening.
Additionally, while not explicitly stated as mandatory in the initial training description, attendance of at least one Principal Equity Operator at annual conferences, conventions, or training sessions is mandatory, and it is highly recommended for the General Manager and all other Principal Equity Operators. For the Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant training program, the franchisee must train their Principal Equity Operators and General Manager, and they must attend the entire training program. This suggests that while the Master Franchisee and their manager-level employees are explicitly required to attend the initial training, Principal Equity Operators and General Managers are also expected to participate in training programs, either initial or subsequent.
The franchisee is responsible for all expenses incurred by their trainees and attendees, including daily allowances, transportation costs, and living expenses. Bhc also states that the franchisee must pay for all daily allowance, travel, meals, and living expenses that Bhc incurs for training.
