What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the standards for approving new or renewing Master Franchisees are not readily available to the current Master Franchisee when they notify Bhc of their intent to sell, transfer, or assign their franchise, Bhc will communicate those standards within 15 calendar days. This ensures the Master Franchisee has the necessary information to facilitate a potential transfer.

This requirement ensures transparency and helps the Master Franchisee find a suitable buyer who meets Bhc's criteria. By providing the standards promptly, Bhc aims to streamline the transfer process and maintain consistency in its franchise network.

For a prospective franchisee, this clause offers reassurance that Bhc will provide timely support during a potential transfer. Knowing the standards upfront can save time and resources, as the Master Franchisee can focus on identifying candidates who are likely to be approved by Bhc. This also protects the Master Franchisee from potential delays or complications due to a lack of information.

It is important for prospective Master Franchisees to understand all the conditions and requirements related to franchise transfers, as detailed in Item 23 of the FDD. This includes understanding the transfer review fee, the information required from potential transferees, and Bhc's right of first refusal. Being well-informed about these aspects can help a Master Franchisee navigate the transfer process smoothly and efficiently.
