What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Master Franchisee must cooperate fully with Bhc in responding to any incident that occurs at the Bhc Restaurant or in the Development Area that causes or may cause harm or injury to retail customers or Master Franchisee's employees, Subfranchisees, or that may damage the System, Marks, or image or reputation of the Franchised Business or Franchisor or Franchisor's affiliates. The Master Franchisee must immediately inform Bhc's designated contact person by telephone, e-mail, text, or other electronic messaging medium authorized by Bhc for this purpose.

This requirement ensures that Bhc can promptly address any issues that may arise at a franchised location and protect its brand reputation. It also allows Bhc to provide support and guidance to the Master Franchisee in handling the incident. The Master Franchisee's cooperation is essential for Bhc to effectively manage the situation and minimize any potential damage to the brand or its customers.

This type of clause is standard in most franchise agreements, as franchisors need to maintain control over their brand and ensure consistent standards across all locations. By requiring franchisees to cooperate in incident response, franchisors can protect their brand image and maintain customer trust. A prospective franchisee should understand that this obligation requires them to be responsive and transparent with Bhc in the event of any incident at their restaurant.
