What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a Master Franchisee wants to relocate a Bhc Restaurant, they must submit a written request to Bhc at least 90 days before the desired relocation date. This request should detail the reasons for the relocation and provide complete information about the proposed new location. However, if prior notice is impractical due to a required relocation, the Master Franchisee must provide notice as soon as possible.
Within 20 business days of receiving the Master Franchisee's relocation request, Bhc will either approve or disapprove the closure or relocation in writing. If Bhc disapproves of the proposed relocation, the Master Franchisee can request approval for an alternative new location, following the same procedures.
This process ensures that Bhc maintains control over the location of its restaurants, which is crucial for brand consistency and market strategy. For a prospective Master Franchisee, this means that relocating a restaurant requires careful planning and adherence to Bhc's approval process. Failure to obtain approval could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
