What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Bhc designates specific computer software to be used in the operation of the Computer System, the franchisee must license or sublicense the Designated Software from Bhc's designee. The franchisee is also required to enter into a software license agreement on the software licensor's then-current form and pay any related license or maintenance fees.
Furthermore, the Bhc franchisee may be required to purchase any upgrades, enhancements, or replacements to the Designated Software. The franchisee must incorporate any required modifications or additions within the timeframe stated in the notice sent by Bhc.
This requirement ensures that all Bhc locations operate on a standardized computer system, allowing for consistency and potentially simplifying technical support and data management for Bhc. However, it also means that franchisees must budget for ongoing software licensing, maintenance, and potential upgrade costs, as well as adhere to the franchisor's timeline for implementing changes.
