see's rights granted under the MFA for an additional term if one or more of the following applies or occurs.
No additional training programs or refresher courses are required but may be provided by us. However, you can request additional on-site training or assistance at any time. We may provide this training or assistance at our option, but the MFA does not require us to do so.
We may periodically conduct an annual conference, convention, or training session, and if we do, we will determine its duration, curriculum, and location (section 6.2 of the MFA). Attendance of at least one Principal Equity Operator at these meetings will be mandatory (and is highly recommended for your General Manager and all other Principal Equity Operators).
You will implement a training program for your Master Franchising Business employees in compliance with our requirements. You also shall ensure that all of your Affiliate Franchisee and your Subfranchisees implement a training program for the employees of their Master Franchised BHC Restaurants in compliance with our requirements.
Site Selection and Approval
We use available demographic information to evaluate the site and the area in which it is located, and analyze area income figures, traffic patterns, visibility, population density, competition, zoning, parking, accessibility, and other related, relevant circumstances. Premises acceptable to us where the Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant will be operated must be located and secured by you and reviewed and consented to by us within four (4) months after the signing of the MFA. If we do not approve the proposed site within 30 days after you complete submission of the requested information (or 15 days after you provide any supplemental information we request), the site will be deemed rejected. If we disapprove, you must promptly propose an alternative location. If you do not locate a site for your Affiliate Franchised BHC Restaurant that is acceptable to us within four (4) months after signing the MFA, we may cancel the MFA based on your failing to find an acceptable site.
Neither you, your Affiliate Franchisee nor your Subfranchisees are required to purchase or lease real estate from us or our affiliates. While you are required to have access to space from which to communicate with us and operate your Master Franchise Business, you are not obligated to open and maintain a separate business office within the Territory. If you elect, however, to open and maintain a separate business office for your Master Franchise Business, we do not need to consent to its location or lease.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while additional training programs or refresher courses are not required, Bhc may provide them. Franchisees can request additional on-site training or assistance at any time, but Bhc is not obligated to fulfill these requests.
Bhc may periodically conduct an annual conference, convention, or training session, determining its duration, curriculum, and location. Attendance of at least one Principal Equity Operator at these meetings is mandatory and highly recommended for the General Manager and all other Principal Equity Operators. Franchisees or their General Manager must attend any annual meeting, convention or conference of franchisees and all meetings related to new products or product preparation procedures, new operational procedures or programs, training, management, sales or sales promotion or similar topics that Bhc offers, at their own expense.
After opening, Bhc may require attendance of designated personnel at training courses, seminars, conferences, or other programs beyond the Initial Training or mandatory meetings if deemed relevant or appropriate. Franchisees must ensure that only individuals trained by Bhc or under its supervision have overall responsibility for the operation. Franchisees are responsible for all costs and expenses, including travel, hotel, and meals, for their attendees at any post-opening training, additional training, conferences, or meetings. All attendees must have a demonstrable relationship to the management and operation of the Franchised BHC Restaurant.
Therefore, if Bhc were to use a public figure in its marketing, whether franchisees would need to attend additional training would depend on whether Bhc considers it necessary and relevant to the operation of the franchised business. If deemed necessary, attendance could be required, and the franchisee would bear the associated costs.
