What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bhc's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adopt changes to the system, including new marks. Bhc may change the system, which includes adopting new marks, products, equipment, or techniques. Franchisees are obligated to adopt these changes.

Bhc franchisees must comply within a reasonable time if Bhc notifies them to discontinue or modify the use of any mark. Bhc assumes no liability or obligation for a franchisee's modification or discontinuation of any mark. This means that if Bhc decides to update its branding or trademarks, franchisees are required to implement these changes in their businesses.

This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as franchisors need to maintain brand consistency across all locations. However, it's important for prospective Bhc franchisees to understand that they will bear the costs associated with updating signage, marketing materials, and other branded items to reflect any changes Bhc makes to its marks or overall system. Franchisees should inquire about how frequently Bhc has updated its marks in the past and what support Bhc provides to franchisees during such transitions.
